Planners Course Notes:
Low Rigg is a small area of open fell. The terrain is mostly good running, with some areas of bracken which aren't shown on the map.
Courses are planned to avoid most of the bracken.
All courses, including the Easy, go to the top of Low Rigg so make sure you are prepared for bad weather and are dressed appropriately.
You are advised to carry a waterproof cagoule and whistle.
The Long and Short courses cross a boundary near the top of Low Rigg where there is a section of damaged wall; cross carefully so you don't cause any more damage or injure yourself.
We have permission to cross here just for the event and you shouldn't cross this section of wall at any other time; the gap will be repaired after the event.
Important Safety Notes:
- You must come and register before starting your run and you must return to registration to download even if you retire from your course.
- If you travelled to the event alone, you must state this at registration or leave your car keys.
- Please come prepared for bad weather and carry a whistle.

Other Notes:
New to Night Orienteering?
- You need to bring a decent head torch (and maybe a spare and/or spare battery) and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
- The events up to Christmas are on easier areas so are suitable for those trying night orienteering for the first time.
- Younger and/or inexperienced orienteers should be accompanied.
