On the roadside on the southern side of Setmurthy.
From Cockermouth: Leave the town via Castlegate Drive passed the hospital and secondary school. Take the first turn left after the school and follow signs to the golf course and Higham. After about 1.5 miles you will find the main entrance to the forest. There are several parking areas further along the road

At the western most entrance on this road (where the mountain bikers access the forest).
