Saturday 16th December Junior Christmas "Coaching"  1030-1230 - Whinlatter, based at the NEW yurt which is below the Visitor Centre on the bend between the main and overflow car parks. A fun two hours of orienteering activities and a presentation of awards.  The theme for this year is Mr Men and Little Misses.  Please feel free to make up your own character. However, please do NOT come as Mr/Miss Orienteering, Mr/Miss Christmas or Little Miss Bossy. Details for Colour Standard Award presentations are attached here

WCOC Bleaberry Fell Galoppen (event this Sunday 26 Nov) - flooded electricity work is causing a road closure on road to campsite which was to be used for Assembly. EVENT IS CANCELLED

Congratulations to all the WCOC juniors who made the trip to BSOC this year at the Forest of Dean. Four schools were represented; Newton Rigg, QEGS, Keswick and Cockermouth (who won the "Large Secondary School" Trophy for the 3rd year running). Well done to the following juniors; Year 7- Emily 2nd, Year 8- Issy S 2nd, Emma 18th, Wilf 4th, Year 9 - Clare 8th, Herbie 2nd, Olly 8th. Year 10 - Caitlin 1st, Carys 3rd, Joe H 3rd, Joe S 6th, Jonty 12th,Henry 14th. Year 11- Rosie 1st, Lily 3rd, Izzy 7th, David 17th. Year 12 - Niamh 1st, Louis 2nd. Year 13 - Al 1st, Zac 2nd, Dan 3rd, and Joe G 11th. Many thanks to all the adults who support WCOC juniors throughout the year, and in particular the teachers (and Roger) who gave up their entire weekend to give them the opportunity to take part in this event.

WCOC at 50

This weekend, come and help WCOC celebrate their 50th anniversary by joining in the fun - Cockermouth Urban (parks and streets) on Saturday 25th Nov. Everyone welcome, with courses suitable for all.

Steve Birkinshaw - Copeland Chase winner 2017

Many thanks to Mike Pearson and his team for planning and organising today's Copeland Chase, and to all the competitors who supported this event.  This year a Score format was used, with four courses offering a challenge from 1 to 4 hours. Congratulations to Steve Birkinshaw (pictured with the Joe Long Trophy) who won the 4hr course, and Karen Parker who won 1st Lady. John Slater, who after 10 years or planning and organising this event finally got a run, won the 3hr course, with Sue Skinner first Lady.  The 2hr course was won by junior Daniel Spencer, with GB teammate Niamh Hunter first Lady, and the 1hr course winner was another WCOC junior, Wilf Teasdale, with Rosie Spencer winning first Lady.
