  • This year things are a little different. We've decided to set the beer trail up as a maprun.

  1. First download the Maprun App on your mobile phone.

  2. Next scan the QR code for your course (links below). You will need to enter the pin to access the course.

  3. Once you have scanned the QR code you click OK and then wait a bit - be patient and it will work!

  4. Alternatively, they can also be found in the UK/Cumbria/west folder in 'Events Near Me'

  5. Then print the map from the link above and you're good to go!

If you need it, there's a guide on how to use Maprun HERE (the guide refers to Maprun 6 but the updated version is Maprun 7 - same guide!)

Other Notes:

SAFETY:

This event is not an official British Orienteering event, and therefore BOF insurance does not cover you.

Leave plenty of daylight and carry a decent torch. Courses go high into the fells so go equipped for a remote mountain journey.

Maps:
Once again this year’s Beer Trail maps have been prepared by Pete Nelson - thanks Pete for your tireless work for West Cumberland OC - you are a true unsung hero:)

Also, thanks to Steve Birkinshaw for his work on maprun - another club hero who works tirelessly behind the scenes.

The full OS/Harveys map should be taken as well, for emergency routes off the fell.

Please leave the stash (look for a black bin bag stuffed with goodies) as you find it and take away litter. If the goodies are running low, let us know.

There will also be a stash/bar on the course!
