Sunday, October 6, 2019

Grid Reference:

The area is steep open fell. Most of it is very runnable though there are some areas of where the going is slower. The longer courses also visit a new area to the North which has patches of interesting contour and erosion gully detail.

The event is on the fells to the north of Skiddaw.  Access is via some very narrow roads so please drive cautiously, and follow the signed route to minimise traffic disruption.  Approach is via the A591 and the event will be signed from the A591 at NY216325, signposted ‘Bassenthwaite Village’.  This junction is about 100m SE of the Castle Inn junction.
Parking and assembly are at Horsemoor Hills Farm, NY252335.  There will be a £1 per car parking fee.
No access for coaches or for any vehicles larger than a minibus.

Cake Stall There will be a cake stall run by WCOC juniors. Please support their efforts by rewarding yourself with something nice after your run.

Dogs are not allowed on the competition area and must be on leads in the farmyard, and can be exercised in the field leading off the farmyard. This field is also being used for parking.

Registration and download are in the assembly area.  Registration is open from 10.00 to 12.00, and starts are between 10.30 and 12.30.  The start is 750m from assembly, with 70m climb.
Entry on the day only.  Car keys can be left at Registration.  Spare clothing can be left near the start as competitors will pass the start on their way back to Assembly from the finish.  The finish is 800m beyond the start.  The clothing dump will not be supervised.
