Other Notes:

Terrain:
A pleasant small wooded area with good running on the paths around Powter How but some harder going on the sides of the hill.
The long and red courses will likely see you running further than the quoted distances to ensure quick running and minimise height gain.
The easy course is a good course for accompanied children with both the start and finish close to registration.

Map:
Note 1:2500 with 2.5m contours.
We're using the 'summer' version of the map which shows the bracken cover however courses have been planned to minimise passage through bracken and the bracken is dying back.

New to Night Orienteering?
- You need to bring a decent head torch (and maybe a spare and/or spare battery) and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
- Pre-Christmas events are on easier areas or planned to be fairly easy with Long, Short, Red and Easy courses available, so are suitable for those trying night orienteering for the first time.
- Younger and/or inexperienced orienteers should be accompanied.
