Important Safety Notes
- Whistles compulsory.
- The area goes high and is very exposed. Waterproof tops are likely to be compulsory.
- Beware of 4WD vehicles and bikes on the Old Coach Road. This track is followed on the Yellow and Orange Courses and crossed on the other courses.
- Old machinery in the quarry must not be climbed on.

These are all in the King Kong portacabins.
Pre-entries do not need to register and can go straight to the start.

Courses:
Starts:
There are two starts:
1. High start for the Blue and Green courses
2. Low start for Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Short Green and Brown courses
Note the Brown course uses the Low Start.
Approximate distances and climbs from registration are:
High Start: 2.5km and 270m climb
Low Start 1km and 70m climb

Final course lengths and climbs are:
Brown 7.8 km 500 m
Blue 6.6 km 180 m
Green 4.1 km 125 m
Light Green 3.1 km 230 m
Short Green 2.5 km 100 m
Orange 2.4 km 100 m
Yellow 2.2 km 100 m
Course Notes:
- towards the end of their courses Yellow and Orange competitors will encounter people on their way to the High Start.
- fences marked with purple lies should only be crossed at marked crossing points.
Finish:
There is one finish 600m from registration which is close to the gate where you exit from the quarry onto the fell.
Please remember to download even if you pass your car on the way back from the finish.
Map:
- Brown and Blue courses have a 1:10000 map the other courses a 1:7500 map.
- The Brown course goes onto the area south east of Clough Head, this has less detail mapped than the rest of the area but all the mapped features are in the correct place.
- The vegetation on the entire area is rough open. To save on ink this is marked on the map as white (rather than yellow).
- Fences marked with purple lies should only be crossed at marked crossing points.
